Does my cat need some starch/carbohydrates in her diet to maintain a healthy blood glucose level?
No. Your cat has no nutritional requirement for starch/carbs in
their diet. Starch will only mess with your cat’s metabolism and excess starch should
be avoided whenever possible. A good rule of thumb is less than six percent starch/carbs
is the target you should be aiming for in a healthy cat’s diet. If you have a diabetic cat starch/carbs should be less than 1%.
